La sola possibile via di fuga rispetto alla realtà trasfigurata in destino non riscattabile (secondo quella che abbiamo qualificato come “ideologia dell’inemendabile imperfezione”) consiste nella riattivazione del senso della possibilità come modalità ontologica fondamentale e, con esso, dell’azione umana come portatrice della trasformazione.

Quand’anche, come oggi accade, complice anche la poderosa macchina della manipolazione organizzata, il mondo delle potenze oggettive appaia come un destino intrascendibile, come l’esito fatale dei processi irreversibili dell’economia, è dalla rammemorazione della possibilità come struttura ontologica del reale che occorre tornare a prendere le mosse. Il presente deve tornare a essere inteso come storia e come possibilità, e non come un “solido cristallo” (Marx) a cui adattarsi.

Tutto ciò che esiste, compreso ciò che si pretende destinalmente insuperabile, si dà come risultato di un porre e, in quanto tale, può essere trasformato. Presente, passato e futuro debbono essere sottratti alla malia della necessità e restituiti al ritmo della possibilità storica, in modo che immaginazione progettante e prospettiva utopica tornino a essere i contenuti dinamici della temporalità.

La prassi deve dunque, innanzitutto, essere metabolizzata dalla teoria come sua possibilità reale, dando luogo alla figura di una critica in grado di agire concretamente sull’oggetto criticato e di emendarlo in vista del suo accordo con la ragion pratica. I due opposti in solidarietà antitetico-polare (e, dunque, segretamente coincidenti nella loro correlazione essenziale) del realismo disincantato e dell’utopismo astratto per anime belle devono, allora, cedere il passo al sogno desto della possibile razionalizzazione dell’esistente ad opera dell’agire umano. Quest’ultima deve essere innestata, a sua volta, su un’ontologia del non-ancora che, con ottimismo militante, sappia mediare la passione antiadattiva con le condizioni reali.

Da sé la contraddizione che il presente ha in seno non si toglie. Né, del resto, si è mai tolta: è questo uno degli insegnamenti più preziosi che la Rivoluzione francese e quella russa non smettono di impartirci. L’illusione fatalistica della contraddizione che si autosopprime non può che convertirsi, in ultimo, in apologetica dell’esistente: vale a dire in quello stesso fatalismo greve che ha finito per stregare il nostro tempo, nel rassegnato convincimento secondo cui occorre pazientare, perché il capitalismo ha i secoli contati. Non si tratta di adattarsi all’oggetto, bensì, in accordo con l’idealismo, di conformarlo alla soggettività agente. Per questo, oggi, nel mondo del realismo dominante, e della conseguente assolutizzazione dell’oggetto, è necessario ripartire dalla svolta trascendentale compiuta dall’idealismo tedesco: con la formula di Giovanni Gentile, occorre favorire la “rinascita dell’idealismo” come antidoto contro la dilagante pigrizia fatalistica.

Solo per questa via, diventa possibile ridialettizzare il capitalismo speculativo, ossia riattivare il senso della possibilitas come modalità ontologica fondamentale e, per ciò stesso, destrutturare la dilagante mistica della necessità di cui si sostanzia l’odierna fase speculativa. Si tratta, tramite il recupero e la messa in opera dell’eredità dell’idealismo tedesco, e in primo luogo della sua vis dialectica, di reagire all’odierna assolutizzazione dell’oggetto e di riattivare l’assunto – base della defatalizzazione dell’esistente – secondo cui ciò che è, è in forza di un porre soggettivo, esistendo come oggettivazione temporalmente mediata della prassi umana.

L’oggetto non è un dato naturale-eterno, ma l’esito di un fare: in quanto tale, può sempre da capo essere sottoposto alla prassi trasformatrice. È in questo senso che non possiamo non dirci idealisti. Al di là delle prospettive diverse, reciprocamente irriducibili e talvolta antitetiche in cui l’idealismo si è espresso – e che non è il compito di questo lavoro fare emergere –, ci soffermeremo, nelle pagine che seguono, sul codice della soggetto-oggettività, ossia sull’assunto che pone l’identità di soggetto e oggetto intendendo il secondo come oggettivazione del primo e della sua libera creazione pratica. Con Hegel, la riconciliazione di soggetto e oggetto si dà nel processo storico, come suo risultato.

La nostra attenzione, volta a favorire un’“urbanizzazione” della provincia idealistica, si concentrerà sull’assunto per cui l’oggetto si dà sempre tramite la mediatezza del porre soggettivo e, dunque, in forma non oggettiva. Soggetto e oggetto non esistono astoricamente come poli opposti e reciprocamente autonomi, secondo il dogma cartesiano dell’Anwesenheit, dell’essente come pura presenza astorica che, direbbe Gentile, fieri nequit: si danno, invece, come reciprocamente mediati dall’azione temporalmente connotata (essendo l’oggetto l’esito del porre soggettivo), secondo l’acquisizione teorica guadagnata da Kant e, insieme, da lui non sviluppata coerentemente in tutte le sue conseguenze.
